Celebrating Unity and Wellness Across Sabah & Sarawak
In the spirit of East Malaysia’s most cherished harvest celebrations — Kaamatan in Sabah and Gawai in Sarawak— Caring Pharmacy launched a festive and meaningful month-long campaign across both states. Our team at YHP Event, a trusted name in event management in Sabah and Sarawak, was proud to bring this celebration to life through on-ground activations that blended culture, community, and care.
The campaign ran every weekend for a month, offering shoppers and Caring members more than just great deals — it brought an experience filled with tradition, joy, and wellness.
The campaign officially launched at two key locations:
📍 Imago Mall, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
📍 AEON Mall, Kuching, Sarawak — which also marked the grand opening of Caring Pharmacy’s latest outlet
Each launch featured vibrant performances of traditional dances, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Sabah and Sarawak. These performances reflected the campaign’s deeper message:unity in diversity, and the importance of celebrating local culture in modern retail spaces.
In line with the campaign’s cultural theme, we were especially moved by the recent story of Dion Das Louis — a 9-year-old cultural performer from Sarawak who made international headlines by showcasing the traditional Iban ngajat dance on the world stage. His graceful performance earned him two gold medals at the World Championships of Performing Arts in the U.S., bringing pride to all Malaysians.
Throughout the campaign, Caring Pharmacy delighted customers with a variety of exclusive rewards and wellness perks. Shoppers enjoyed 3X Caring Member Points, along with opportunities to redeem rewards through the Caring e-Stamp program. Free health checks, including cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar screenings, were available at selected outlets—making it not just a celebration, but also a health-conscious community initiative. To enhance the in-store experience, customers received treats like soft serve ice cream or popcorn with any purchase, and took part in a fun “Pick & Win” activity, where lucky participants walked away with mystery gifts or cash vouchers.
Dion’s story is a timely reminder of the beauty and strength of our East Malaysian heritage — and how cultural appreciation can start young and reach far. His spirit echoes what we aim to celebrate through campaigns like this: heritage, heart, and the power of community connection.
With its strong community focus, the Kaamatan & Gawai campaign stood out as more than just a promotional activity — it was a celebration of health, heritage, and heartfelt connection. At YHP Event, we’re honoured to be part of campaign activations like this, where brand storytelling meets cultural appreciation.
