The Chung Ling Alumni Dinner is an international phenomenon, with alumni gatherings held annually in various locations worldwide, including Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and across Malaysia, from Penang to Sabah. In 2023, the spotlight was on Sabah, where the vibrant cultural scene and warm hospitality set the stage for an extraordinary event.
The first night of the celebration embraced the essence of Sabah’s diverse culture. With the theme “Sabah Cultural Night,” the event aimed to blend local traditions with global connections. From the energetic Magunatip dance to the thrilling Blow Pipe Challenge and the rhythmic beats of Sumazau, the evening at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) was a fusion of traditions that left a lasting imprint. “From the shores of Sabah to the world—Chung Ling High School Alumni Dinner continues its legacy in Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC)!
The second night transported attendees to Hakka Hall, where the Chinese tradition and culture took center stage. The performances included a mesmerizing Neon Lion Dance by KK High School, graceful Chinese traditional dances, and the thunderous beats of the 24 festive drums. It was a night that not only celebrated the roots of the alumni but also showcased the vibrant Chinese heritage.
